David Fekete

01. March 2015

Under this heading we take a look behind the scenes at Kuhn Rikon every
month and introduce a person in our team. This month David Fekete, the
new Sales Manager in the Export Department, is answering our questions.
We want to know, amongst other things, what targets he has set himself
and in which market he sees the greatest growth potential for Kuhn Rikon.

  • How long have you been at Kuhn Rikon?
    Since 1 January 2015.
  • What is your remit?
My area of responsibility is sales in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) export area.
  • In which market do you see the greatest growth potential for Kuhn Rikon?
In my opinion the greatest potential for growth lies in France. The sales figures in our neighbouring country are still very weak and the Kuhn Rikon brand hardly figures in the consumers' minds. In addition to this, the French market is full of strong, local brands. We will have a tough fight to gain our place – but that is at one and the same time a great incentive and fabulous motivation! We would also like to push our good sales results in Germany further together with our sales team there. Austria and the Benelux counties also have great potential for us in my view.
  • In the last 14 years you have lived in 4 countries. Hand on heart: where does the food taste best? In Germany, Poland, France or in Switzerland?
I will answer that diplomatically: I like the food everywhere. I do however feel most at home in Switzerland. My wife is Swiss and we had been planning to move here for a long time.
  • Is there a particular target that you have set yourself in your new position?
One of my main targets is to successfully introduce the Kuhn Rikon brand to France. In the home of "haute cuisine", which does after all have approx. 66 million inhabitants, we are – as already mentioned – still not as well known by a long chalk as we would like to be. To bring this tricky market on board will be a fabulous challenge and I am very much looking forward to it!
  • How would you describe Kuhn Rikon in a few words for someone who doesn’t know the firm?
Kuhn Rikon is a firm with a rich tradition, which combines the passion for cooking with high quality, visually appealing products. And, thanks to dedicated employees, passes this on to all the kitchens of the world.
