Our Kuhn Rikon Black Peak Santoku knife with its 180mm blade length is probably the most versatile knife among the Black Peak kitchen knives. Weighing, chopping, cutting and peeling vegetables, fruit, fish and meat - no problem. The basis for this versatility is a really sharp blade (double cut), the balanced balance and an ergonomic shape of the handle.

The blades of the Kuhn Rikon kitchen knives are made of high-quality Japanese stainless steel: resistant to corrosion and flexible in daily use. The manufacturing process used by Kuhn Rikon, the blades are heated in an annealing furnace at over 1000°C, not only gives the steel additional strength, but also makes it flexible and corrosion-resistant. The blade is then polished and ground by hand on both sides. Each individual knife receives its final cut from a specialized blade grinder. In addition to a lot of practice and precision, the manual grinding process requires a lot of time and effort. The sharpening angle is decisive for the quality of the knife: The flat blade angles are ultra sharp and are also ideal for precise preparation work in the kitchen: e. g. chopping thin slices of vegetables (carrots, peppers, garlic, onions, etc.), peeling an apple or cutting even, thin slices of meat. Thanks to the non-stick coating made of silicone, the knife glides effortlessly through the material to be cut and provides additional corrosion protection.

The excellent workmanship of the Kuhn Rikon Black Peak knives not only leads to a well-balanced balance of the entire knife, but also blends in well with the guide hand, which is already noticeable in the first movement.

Consumer safety plays a major role for us. A blade guard is therefore included with every Kuhn Rikon kitchen knife. This prevents mechanical damage to the blade and injuries that could occur when the knives are stored in cutlery drawers.
